Optional Random Mystery HuntLooking for Ghost Hunters · Find a Team (18+, optional)GPS is optional: coordinates are sent for discovery only after you tap GET GPS LOCATION. Searching sends your typed town/postcode to the map provider. Nonempty area results are cached for an hour; town queries for 24 hours, without your identity. Town distances start from the selected centre, not your GPS position.

Collection, sources & coverage
Worldwide OpenStreetMap search via Overpass, plus 23 curated places. Live paths require explicit pedestrian access or mapped UK public-rights-of-way designation and actual path nodes; source-listed public parks use labelled visitor pins and named public arrivals; no random coordinates, inferred rights-of-way or invented hauntings. Up to 200 eligible results per search; availability and mapping vary by country. Story tiers are separate from landscape genres: Reported Haunting means a sourced allegation, Strange History is sourced history, Local Legend is folklore, and The Unknown has no paranormal report. Walking paths receive more random-selection weight, not a verified quietness rating.

No provider key is required for this MVP. Public services are not a guaranteed high-volume service; a contracted or self-hosted provider is needed for sustained traffic. Community reports are not open for submission yet; only reviewed, linked evidence can enter discovery. Existing voices/music are unchanged; new places use the recorded Watcher atmosphere, not made-up history.
